Time

The sun is back in the sky, after a long night of wondering.
Maybe this would be the day.
A soft breeze is gently nudging the trees, who seem oblivious
And keep swaying to their own tune.
The air is filled with constant, familiar sounds,
In an absurd display of indifference.

Outside the real world,
The pointless buzz of urgency saturates every possible space.
Unhinged communication devices insist
Their nonsensical numbers matter.

Time mocks those left behind.

Life goes on.

(...but how?)
